Medically Supervised Weight Loss

What is medically supervised weight loss?

Following a diet book or using packaged meals or shakes means that you must rely on your willpower and understanding of the diet to be successful. At Associates in Family Medicine, Dr. Hamidi and her team provide support and education every step of the way. The weight loss program we use, the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol, not only helps you reach your weight loss goal, but also includes education, coaching, and guidance to help you learn how to live a healthier lifestyle so that you can sustain a healthy weight for the rest of your life.

What is the Ideal Protein Protocol?

The Ideal Protein Protocol is a four-phase diet program that involves one-on-one coaching, online tools, a personalized plan, and lifestyle education and coaching. The reason this plan succeeds where others fail is that a large part of this program involves learning about healthy eating and lifestyle habits that sets you up for success in the long-run.

How much will I lose on the Ideal Protein Protocol?

You set your own goals. You can lose as little as 5 or more than 100 pounds. Since Ideal Protein focuses on weight loss and healthy lifestyle habits, even if your goal is to lose only 5 pounds, you will still benefit from this program.

Is the Ideal Protein Protocol right for me?

The program works for most adults. However, it's not recommended for people certain health conditions. Some of these conditions include:

  • Kidney disease
  • Liver disease
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Cancer (active or in remission less than three years)
  • History of arrhythmia
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Pregnancy
  • Breast-feeding

During your consultation with Dr. Hamidi, she discusses your medical history to determine if this diet is a good option for you. It’s not recommended for children.

How does the Ideal Protein Protocol work?

The Ideal Protein Protocol is a four-stage plan that helps you lose weight, retrains your diet and eating habits, and ultimately supports you through your transition away from a diet plan to help you maintain your weight loss.

This medically developed diet helps stabilize your pancreas and blood sugar levels while burning fat and maintaining muscle and other lean tissue. It is a long-term strategy which promotes health and weight control.
