Cardiovascular Health

Cardiovascular disease, sometimes called “heart disease”, is a generic term that covers over 60 different types of conditions. Cardiovascular disease can affect different aspects of the heart, and/or the blood vessels which deliver blood to every part of your body. Common heart diseases include:

  • Angina (heart is not getting enough blood)
  • Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats)
  • Cardiomyopathy (heart muscle is too thick, thin, stiff, or is filled with liquid)
  • Coronary Artery Disease (buildup along the lining of the blood vessels)
  • Congenital heart defects (heart defects present during birth)
  • Heart attack (damaged heart due to insufficient blood supply)
  • Heart failure (heart incapable of delivering blood to the body)
  • Rheumatic heart disease (damage to heart valves)
  • Peripheral arterial disease (hardening of arteries that lead to arms/legs)
  • and more related issues.

Every patient we see has a different level of cardiovascular health and we cater to each individual’s needs. Some patients need advice and recommendations to help them change their lifestyle and attain cardiovascular health. Other patients require prescribed medication to manage their cardiovascular conditions. Still, some patients require surgery to rectify existing conditions.

Our office provides comprehensive cardiac evaluation and risk factor assessment. This includes cardiac exam with EKG, advanced cardiac blood panel, and the identification of personal factors which may increase the chance of heart disease. If necessary, we will refer you to a cardiologist for further testing.
